How to understand the dynamics between "self" and "others"? There is a certain metaphoric truth to how they advice you on the airplane to apply the mask on yourself before helping others. It is a big problem in all occupations that are focused on helping others - instead of taking on the clients' issues and sometimes even responsibility for the clients development, you need to stand firmly within your own borders and "issues" and let the client's process flow freely and independently. Then you are serving both yourself and the other(s). For co-creation to work freely, a free, non-manipulative space is a prerequisite. In that space there is room for trust, best solutions and even miracles to arise. And that is when the head-line question dissolves :-)
Katja was in an event last week where people shared what they can do better and with what they need help & from whom. One participant was in a phase of questioning her work and the entire belief-base from which she has worked until now. The question was also about whether we are here to focus on ourselves or whether we should focus on serving others.

We are constantly facing news about national debts, unemployment news, economic recession - and you name it. As entrepreneurs we stopped to listen in on what is going on with this energy, as we felt that we are affected in a way that is not personal but rather collective in a huge way.
What we sensed is that this energy is like a beast; suppressing your dreams and potential, holding you down and preventing from following what feels right for you. Behind it lies a lot of fear of lack and poverty, losing money, or being able to earn enough. It keeps most of us "closed" and stuck with whatever conditions one is living in. There is no way to see that there is actually a way out because these emotions and sub-conscious beliefs are so heavy on us. Because it has such a big grip on us, we started to wonder, whether there might be a hidden agenda to keep the masses disempowered, so that the power can remain in the hands of the very few (look at the events in Ukraine, for example). Another fear that the media is spreading, and that is also connected to making money with fear, is the current hysteria created over the so called swine flu epidemic (that only exists in Finland?!). It is evident that someone is making a huge amount of money by giving false information about the "epidemic" in itself and also about the impact of the vaccines - contrary to what we are made to believe, it does not provide 100 % protection against the infection, and some even get the disease from the vaccination itself. Summa summarum, focusing on fear increases fear, and we end up living our lives in cages that are partly self-created, and partly collective. You can change your circumstances by becoming aware of the motivations of firstly yourself, and secondly, others and even the society around you. You hold the keys to your belief cage! When it doesn't feel right, go left :-) |
