We have been asked many times about why we are using contemplation as part of our coaching practice, because it is not very common in today´s ruling "rational" world view (what is rational anyway?). In our experience the underlying reason for resisting getting into a silent state lies within the fear of the un-known - something can emerge that is out of your control. The Creative Life Force doesn't follow mind-made guidelines - instead when flowing free it brings the best of insights from the wisdom of the heart. For example, there are studies confirming that there are brain cells in the heart, so we should (and we are able to!) think with the heart. When you are able to connect your brain with your heart in silence, finding solutions to any situation or challenge is possible, sometimes in a very easy and smooth way. What might have taken years to go through with traditional methods, can be dealt with in a more "efficient" way, often meaning shorter time and a profound, lasting results. We wish you a joyous Easter time with some beautiful silent moments! |

"If service and self-respect meet in the centre of our being, we may say that we are aligned with ourselves". -A Worldbook of Values by P. Somers & K. Stephenson (2013)
How are we able to serve in a society that has been built on competition, egoism, self-centeredness and power over? The above quote answers the question of how to serve without being abused. During our personal transformation we have been exploring what it means to be of service in a positive way. The qualities that describe our understanding of true service are humility, having an intention for the highest good of the other, willingness to accept one's flaws (because the other one mirrors them back to us) and sharing all of what you are (without holding anything back). So many times you see experts talking about the right things in a highly intelligent manner but without the ability to integrate that knowledge into living action (values misalignment). There is a big societal demand for a new way of doing / working with the current challenges the humanity is facing on a large scale. We attended a panel discussion with Michelangelo Pistoletto, who has founded Citta del Arte in Italy. His core idea is "Third Paradise", where polarities such as you vs. I form a new Us, or nature vs. technology, art vs. science or innovation vs. tradition create a new third combination to resolve world issues. The Italian panelists brought up that Finns have a profound connection to the wild nature, but we are not able to implement it as a resource in for example our creativity in work life (we go to the summer cottage and forests in summer but we leave it there when we come back to the society). We have learned to believe that it is not civilized to express it, therefore we hide this part of us (and we get depressed!). In the nature we are able to connect to the Sacred, and that is why the summer cottages are so important to us. As a conclusion of the panel, the Italians demanded us to give our gift of wildness to inspire others! The Third Paradise can only be created when we reconnect to the Sacred. Every human being has a built-in longing for the Sacred. When you are able to reconnect, your life becomes trustful and meaningful and it becomes natural to serve. Welcome to reconnect and find your Sacred tune with me! |
